Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why do I need to register my company details?
A. In order to develop the Council’s account management capabilities we need to be able to build up a picture of who our customers are. If you do not wish to register your details you can direct your enquiry to the Economic Development Team (tel: 01527 534082 / business@redditchbc.gov.uk) but you will not be able to take advantage of online tracking.
Q. Who can access my record?

A. At this time, the only people that can access your record are, you, any contact at your company that you choose to share your record with, a limited number of Council Officers with access to the system – these officers are trained in data protection issues and have a contractual obligation to protect your data in line with the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts. Any contact that registers against a company name will be able to see the names of every other contact registered against that company but will not be able to see details of any transactions or service requests unless the contact responsible for those requests has chosen to share them with that specific contact. A contact that registers against a company name will be able to amend the contact details for other contacts but will not be able to amend another contact’s e-mail address. This will prevent the system from e-mailing security details to an address not authorised by the contact.
Q. How will information on my business be used?
A. Information on your business will be aggregated with information on other businesses using this service to provide the Council with information on what types of businesses are using the service and what services they are asking for. This information will be used to enable us to adapt our services to meet the needs of businesses and better target our services.
